As the Election battle begins to blaze, Atlantic Video is helping turn up the heat for Oregon Republican hopeful Jim Feldkamp through a creative and humorous new advertising campaign. The spot, released in late September, shows a bobble-head opponent [meant to be incumbent Congressman Peter DeFazio (D-OR)] wiggling to a “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” treatment – putting a new twist on political commercials.
“For obvious reasons, political campaign spots have the same stuffy formula. If it’s not fresh and new, the message will be lost on viewers,” said Mark Rusciano, Creative Director at Atlantic Video, a broadcast and production company just blocks from the Nation’s Capitol. “We tried to create something edgy that will break through the clutter, and I think a little humor will go a long way.”
Whether creating 30-second spots for political hopefuls, broadcasting and transmitting corporate meetings around the world or producing / editing a video for national nonprofits, Atlantic Video gives the same attention to detail and innovative talent to all of its clients. In 2006 alone, more than five senior staff members have joined the team bringing New York City talent inside the Beltway. Their renewed focus on quality and commitment to excellent customer service has made a difference to clients new and old.
Atlantic Video has seen an increase in political clients this campaign season and has influenced the market through media and direct marketing campaigns. An advertisement was launched in late May, running in Roll Call through October, with hopes to generate talk at the water cooler. The ad claims that with facilities in D.C. and remote capability anywhere, “you can get your TV spots from concept to airtime faster than a lobbyist ordering a second martini at lunch.”
“At this stage, the noise level is so high, Atlantic Video must find new ways to help candidates get their voters’ attention,” said Ed Milligan, President of Atlantic Video. “Broadcasting needs can be extremely expensive if they’re segregated into pieces, but we can meet all of a candidate’s needs with one-stop-shopping.”
