WASHINGTON, March 26, 2007 – Atlantic Video supported the 5th Annual U.S. Missile Defense Conference in mid-March by creating “Optimizing Global Layered Defenses," a high-definition video unveiled at a screening event to hundreds of dignitaries at the Ronald Regan Building in downtown Washington D.C. Atlantic Video works with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) each year on post production services for the video, also referred to as a docu-drama, which this year simulated four different threats in areas such as South Korea, Japan, Hawaii and San Francisco to help explain the process of how the United States prepares to intercept different types of missiles.
One of the greatest threats facing the world today is the increasing proliferation of ballistic missiles. As more countries develop sophisticated missile designs, the number of missiles capable of reaching the United States increases as well.
Atlantic Video completed several weeks of HD Adrenaline editing, 2D and 3D graphic design, audio design, HD Nitris effects, and original composition; it also supported the event with an HD 1080i projection and 3.1 audio services, and duplicated several thousand DVDs for conference attendees.
"A Day in the life of Global Ballistic Missile Defense," which was shown opening day at last year's conference, received four Telly Awards: a silver award in government relations, silver award in public relations, as well as a bronze for use of music and editing. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.
The Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Team included members of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Department of Defense, military services, combatant commands (COCOMs) and supporting industries. The conference provided participants with current information regarding the development and deployment of elements of the BMDS, educated participants on the system level approach to BMDS development, and provided a forum for the exchange of ideas regarding the future. Delegates had an opportunity to participate in a computer-generated wargame that examined command and control, defense planning, and other issues related to the employment of BMDS elements to meet ballistic missile threats.
