(DIstrict of Columbia) – With the clock ticking down to when the nation’s TV stations switch from analog to all-digital broadcasting signals, Atlantic Video opened its doors, mid-February, to host a forum delving into the implications of what’s being called, “The Digital Transition.”

A live-in studio audience of nearly 100 cable and broadcast professionals arrived to Atlantic Video’s Massachusetts Avenue location to listen in as a panel of leading cable executives, organized and moderated by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), discussed the impact of the digital conversion, slated for Feb. 17, 2009. Fifty-three local CTAM chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada were also able to tune in via satellite to the TeleSeminar, which featured, WUSA9 President and General Manager Allan Horlick; Timer Warner Cable Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Sam Howe; Cox Communications Chief Marketing Officer Joe Rooney; and National Cable & Telecommunications Association Senior Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs Rob Stoddard.

As the transition date draws near, Ted Nelson, an Account Executive at Atlantic Video, said it was important for Atlantic Video to play a part in the TeleSeminar discussion.

“AV’s role was to help facilitate the dialog among consumers, broadcasters and cable providers,” said Nelson, who handled the event.

With more than 10,000 people watching via satellite, Nelson also said that the discussion was an important opportunity for Atlantic Video to be seen as a leading video production company.

“We want to be seen as an enabler working with everyone from TV stations, to documentary filmmakers” and everyone in between, Nelson added.
